The Holy Spirit is available and willing to give direction leading us into the decisions that will ultimately take us to God’s best for our future. Often times we know exactly what we need to do. We may know what to say or how to say it. We know what needs to be done, and sometimes know how to do it. But why don’t we? Why don’t we say hello to the stranger that made eye contact? Why do we ignore cries for help both internally and externally? Why aren’t we nice? Why is it so hard to love? Why? Why? Why?Why is it hard to be obedient to the guide of our life? Is it pride…our selfish carnal self. In the history of the world, pride has killed more people than racism or any disease or sickness. It’s true. Figuratively and metaphorically. Think about it. Die to self before you die to this world.Are we unwilling to give up that part of ourselves that will lead to freedom because we have the freedom in ourselves to be that way…self-gratifying love.So who are we really pleasing when we are living for someone else? Or are we living for something…an achievement, an accomplishment, a badge of honor to show our neighbors and co-workers. You never do anything 100% on your own. It’s true. Think about it. You don’t even wake up under your own power.Don’t get it twisted and I’m not throwing shade because I’m just as guilty. I may be called a saint, but far from it…truthfully speaking. I am the least of the least, not worthy of the life I have or have been given.Stepping outside of our skin is uncomfortable, a little scary at times. We’re not of this world, just on it. Thank you for the life I have and Your breathe of the words given to me.
