The Complete Armor of God is for the church body (new believers, seasoned Saints, wavering faith, and the unsaved):

Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come (1 Timothy 4:7-8).
The armor of God is not reactive, it is proactive. The battlefields are a place to prepare and grow. God’s armor is an encouragement to stand firm and fight because Christ has given you victory. You don’t want to find yourself in the position of learning how to get dressed mid-battle.
Although the battle belongs to the Lord, the position you take determines the outcome that shapes your future. You must keep fighting. But what’s more important is that you give the battle to the Lord.
There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors and hail a materialist or a magician with the same delight.
